Anjo

An artist inspired by God and His creations. Anjo Comaling, 22 years old is a painter, earning from his paintings and showcasing them in exhibits. As a child, Anjo was often surrounded by colors, sketchpads, and Bible stories. Diagnosed with mild autism, he found peace and joy in drawing and painting. His love for art started early—his mother remembers how their walls once became his first canvas.
Through patience and passion, Anjo found his way. Today, he earns by selling his paintings through art exhibits and galleries. One of his proudest moments was when his piece Mother and Child was sold on his very first exhibit at SM Megamall. Anjo’s art journey grew when he joined Vico’s Artism Gallery, founded by Catherine Cham. Through this community, Anjo received free sessions and mentorship from Teacher Sam, a UP Fine Arts graduate. The gallery became both a learning space and a second home for him, where he met other neurodivergent artists like himself.
In just his first year, Anjo was recognized as a Promising Artist, a title that reflected not just his talent, but his growth and determination.
For Anjo, challenges come not from art itself, but from the world around it. He prefers calm spaces and quiet corners where he can focus. When painting, he finds peace—his way of expressing emotions he cannot always put into words.
His mother often rewards his hard work with books, especially Bible stories he loves to read. To him, every painting sold isn’t just income; it’s a sign that people see his heart through his art.Anjo’s story is a reminder that with love, faith, and the right support, creativity becomes a bridge—not just toward success, but toward understanding and hope.
