Pia

A creative with a spirit! There are no dull moments with Pia Cabanero, a 26-year old graphic designer working for Cocomilk studios, an independent graphic design studio based in Manila and Melbourne.

During Pia’s high school days, she played around with her dad’s previously installed Photoshop in his old laptop. She discovered her love for design, but it took her awhile until college to realize she wanted to have a creative career.

At work, Pia mostly does templates, but whenever she looks at those assets she thinks to herself: “hey, I did that!” She appreciates when she gets to social media for her company as well, she believes that it feels nice to be part of a whole team, not just her!

When she was 19 years old, she involved herself with Autism Society Philippines. They would have a self-advocate circle consisting of young adults and adults on the autism spectrum where they would have opportunities to learn how to self-manage and organize.

Pia believes in the importance of affiliating with programs, and sees it as a good opportunity for autistic creatives such as herself. She personally recommends Autism Society Philippines because of initiatives to incentivize artists: such as an avenue to sell their paintings!
