Best Buddies Philippines
At the very core of the human experience is a fundamental desire to belong. We all seek to be understood, valued, and feel connected to the people around us. Yet, for millions of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), or just creatives with Autism. The world can often feel like a place of isolation. Social barriers, misconceptions, and systemic exclusion frequently leave these individuals on the margins of society, looking in. Best Buddies exists to dismantle these walls.
As a global organization, Best Buddies is dedicated to a singular, powerful mission: ending the social, physical, and economic isolation of the neurodivergent community. What Best Buddies does is a movement rooted in the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to have a best friend, a fulfilling job, and a voice in their community.

One recent example of initiative is the exhibition titled “dbEnable Artist Series – Where Earth Meets Art: A Visual Ode.
The event ran from November 19 to December 3, 2025. The theme, “Where Earth Meets Art,” invites viewers to see nature and existence through a different lens—one that is often more vibrant, more detailed, and more emotionally raw than the neurotypical gaze.
Among the celebrated artists featured in this series is Vico Cham. His inclusion in this prestigious event serves as a beacon of possibility. For artists like Vico, painting is not just a hobby; it is a profession and a primary mode of communication. When Vico and his peers display their work on such a high-profile platform, they dismantle stereotypes and change perspectives with every brushstroke.
Visitors to the exhibition are invited to look past the label of “disability” and engage directly with the “ability.” They see the texture, the color choices, and the emotions captured on canvas. In doing so, the invisible wall between the viewer and the artist crumbles.
Initiatives like the dbEnable Artist Series prove that integration isn’t just about hiring practices or classroom settings; it is also about cultural appreciation. By uplifting the artistic voices of the neurodivergent community, Best Buddies and its partners are weaving a richer, more diverse cultural tapestry.
